How we collect, use and protect your information when you use MLHub.

1. Information We Collect
Personal Information
When you create an account or interact with our services, we may collect:
- • Email address and username
- • Profile information (name, bio, avatar)
- • Content you create (posts, comments)
- • Communication preferences, such as which newsletters you receive and your time zone
- • For paid memberships: your plan, payments and invoices (card details are handled by Stripe and never stored by MLHub)
- • Messages you send us through the contact form or Messages
Automatically Collected Information
We automatically collect certain information when you use our platform:
- • IP address and browser information
- • Device type and operating system
- • Usage patterns and preferences
- • Cookies and similar technologies
- • Whether you opened a newsletter email and which of its links you clicked

We use the information we collect to:

4. Data Security
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information:
Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS)
Security updates to the software we run
Passwordless, single-use sign-in links and a second security code for administrators
Secure server infrastructure

No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is entirely free of risk, and this description of our safeguards should not be construed as a representation or warranty of absolute security. We undertake to maintain safeguards consistent with prevailing industry standards and applicable law, and to respond promptly should a security incident occur.
5. Cookies and Tracking
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We and our partners use cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage) for the following purposes:
Essential
Keep you logged in, protect forms against forgery (CSRF) and keep the platform secure. These cannot be switched off.
Preferences
Remember your settings, such as light or dark theme, and provide personalized content.
Analytics
Understand how the site is used and measure its performance, such as reading progress.
Advertising (Free users and visitors only)
Set by Google AdSense to show and measure ads. Paid members do not see ads, and we do not load Google's advertising code for them.
Advertising with Google AdSense
- MLHub is free to read because it is supported by ads. We show ads through Google AdSense to visitors who are not logged in and to members on the Free plan. Basic, Premium and higher members get an ad-free experience.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to MLHub and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.

Site analytics (only with your consent)
- If you choose Accept analytics in the cookie banner, we set a first-party visitor cookie and record the pages you visit on MLHub, when you visited them, how long you actively spent on each page and how far you scrolled, the referring page, your device type, operating system and browser, and your IP address. If you are signed in, this is linked to your account.
- From your IP address we derive an approximate location (country, region and city). This is looked up in a database stored on our own servers; your IP address is not sent to a third-party location service. We never determine a street address.
- We use this to understand which content is useful, improve navigation and recommendations, and suggest articles and features you may like. We do not sell it and do not share it with advertisers.
- If you choose Decline analytics (or make no choice), none of this is stored for you: we only increase an anonymous daily page-view counter that contains no identifier, IP address or device information. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings (also in the footer); withdrawing consent deletes the visitor cookie on your next page view.
- Retention: page-visit history and sessions are deleted automatically after 365 days, and cached IP location lookups after 30 days. Signed-in users can ask us to delete this data sooner (see Your Rights).
Newsletter emails
- Every account receives MLHub's newsletters until you switch them off. Each email has a one-click link to stop that newsletter or all of them, and you can choose which ones you get on your newsletter preferences page.
- Our newsletter emails contain a small image and tracked links, so we can count how many emails are opened and which links are clicked. Links only lead to MLHub pages. Blocking images in your email app stops the open count.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will stop features such as logging in from working, and blocking advertising cookies means the ads you see will be less relevant, not that you will see fewer ads. Upgrading to a paid membership removes ads entirely.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
Access and review your personal information
Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
Close your account (Account settings: this deactivates it at once) and ask us to erase your data permanently
Opt out of marketing communications
Receive a copy of your data in a portable format
Object to certain processing activities
To exercise these rights, email privacy@mlhub.blog or use the contact form. We may ask you to confirm the request from the email address on your account.
7. Third-Party Services
We don't offer sign-in through social media accounts: you sign in with a single-use link sent to your email address. We use these service providers to run MLHub:
Hosting: Amazon Web Services runs our servers, database and file storage.
Email: Microsoft 365 sends our emails and receives the mail you send to our addresses.
Payments: Stripe processes paid memberships. Your card details go directly to Stripe (Stripe Privacy Policy).
Photos: cover photos chosen from Unsplash are loaded from Unsplash's image servers, so when you view them your browser sends your IP address and browser details to Unsplash (Unsplash Privacy Policy).
Fonts and page code: your browser loads fonts from Google Fonts and some scripts from the cdnjs and jsDelivr networks, which receive your IP address and browser details.
AI writing tools: text a writer submits to an AI tool in the editor is sent to the AI service provider that runs the tool, only to generate the answer. When the MLHub team drafts articles with AI help, only public source material (such as published news articles) is sent; readers' personal data never is.
Article narration: to create the audio version of an article, its text is sent to Microsoft's text-to-speech service (or Google's as a fallback). No information about listeners is sent.
Analytics: our site analytics are our own; we don't use a third-party analytics service. See Site analytics.
Advertising: Google AdSense, for Free users and visitors only (Google Privacy Policy)
These services have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.
8. Children's Privacy
Our services are not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

More broadly, the features, services, membership tiers, and content offered on MLHub — including Membership, Writing Premium Articles, and Earning/monetization features — are subject to change, update, or discontinuation at any time, without prior notice, at our sole discretion.
